Homemade Tape Masks

These are my homemade tape masks, made out of masking tape and duct tape. These started out with some tape SlipKnot masks, but I found that many were not the best in quality so I decided to step up the quality of crafts (which I tend to do). I made a technique that used steel wire in between the tape to strengthen the mask and also to mold it to your face. I added velcro straps (which no one else has done for tape masks yet) and I created a method that made the masks 3-D so it’s like the real thing. Please comment (nicely), rate and SUSCRIBE!

To complete this How-To you will need: An old tablecloth A work smock A clean, empty plastic gal. jug, labels removed Strong scissors A craft knife An elastic band Newspaper White computer paper Unbleached flour or glue Acrylic paint Decorations Step 1: Protect table and clothes Cover your workspace with an old tablecloth or sheets of newspaper, and wear something to protect your clothes, like a smock. Step 2: Cut the jug With strong scissors, cut the plastic jug in half lengthwise. Turn the jug upside-down: The handle will serve as the mask’s nose. Cut holes for your eyes and mouth with a craft knife. Cut a small hole on each side of the mask, at ear level, for an elastic band. Step 3: Make paper strips Tear newspaper and white computer paper into strips about one inch by six inches. Shredding the paper by hand works better than cutting it. You’ll need enough pieces to cover your mask with three layers of newspaper and one layer of computer paper, plus some extra paper for molding facial features. REGARDING MUSIC: WMG made a copyright claim about the fact that I was using Psychosocial unlicensed So sorry I had to change it to something from Youtube’s ‘pre-licensed’ libraries – Drowning Pool was the only metal there! How lame (still, DP are great!) I decided to make a load of Slipknot South Park characters using the new masks! I hope you like them! (Check out the last few pictures – to do with the band’s current injury situation!) I used: Photoshop Sp Studio Befunky Cartoonizer So if anyone wants to make some more themselves (using the old masks?) basically, find a picture of the mask, cut it Befunky Cartoonizer. Then make a body on the South Park website, and put them together on Photoshop!
